Jogs, and Ironed-Out Mysteries :) On a crisp morning, Mia decided to jog (慢跑, Mànpǎo) through the park to clear her mind. She enjoyed the rhythm of her steps and the serenity of the trees around her. Suddenly, she saw a man jerk (搐动, Chù dòng) his arm violently as he struggled to hold onto his dog’s leash. The dog had spotted a squirrel and was pulling with all its might. Feeling compelled to help, Mia decided to get involved (涉及, Shèjí). She approached the man and offered to hold the leash while he calmed the excited dog. As they talked, Mia learned that the man had just moved to the city and was trying to adjust to his new life. Later that afternoon, Mia returned home to find a pile of laundry waiting for her. She spent the next hour carefully ironing (熨烫, Yùn tàng) her clothes, reflecting on the events of the morning. It wasn’t often that she met someone new during her jogs. That evening, she read an article about a notorious criminal who had just been jailed (入狱, Rù yù). It made her grateful for the peaceful life she lived, even if it included runaway dogs and piles of laundry. (Mànpǎo) 🏃 For more practice, check out: 📘 C(45) Vocabulary Flash Cards: Visualize and Memorize – Quick reminders to help these verbs stick! 🎯 C(45) Verbs Quiz: Test Your Knowledge – Challenge yourself to master today’s verbs! 👉 Listen to Episode 45 now and add these practical verbs to your language toolkit!

A Day of Discovery It was a busy morning at the office when Lisa decided to introduce (介绍, Jièshào) her new colleague, Alex, to the team. Alex, a young engineer, had just invented (发明, Fāmíng) a revolutionary gadget that could reduce energy consumption in homes. The team was impressed by his innovation, and everyone wanted to know more. Later in the day, Lisa sat down with the finance department to discuss how the company could invest (投资, Tóuzī) in Alex’s invention. She knew it had the potential to make a significant impact in the industry, and the team agreed that it was worth the funding. Meanwhile, Alex began to investigate (调查, Diàochá) potential flaws in his design. He wanted to ensure it was ready for mass production. Hours of thorough testing revealed a minor issue, but he quickly fixed it. By the evening, Lisa decided to invite (邀请, Yāoqǐng) the entire team to a celebratory dinner. They gathered at a cozy restaurant, reflecting on a day filled with introductions, discoveries, and teamwork. Meditation - Setting your mind to win! Have you ever experience an 'Alpha Level Meditation' before? Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta brainwaves are different frequencies of electrical activity in your brain. They’re associated with different states of consciousness and mental activity. Think of them as different gears in a machine—each frequency corresponds to a different function or mental state. Beta Waves (13-38 Hz): These are the fastest brainwaves, and you typically experience them when you’re alert, focused, and actively thinking Alpha Waves (8-12 Hz): These are slower than beta waves, and you often experience them when you’re relaxed but still awake, like when you’re meditating or daydreaming peacefully. Theta Waves (4-7 Hz): These waves are slower than alpha waves and are associated with deep relaxation, light sleep, and a state of being very at ease. Delta Waves (0.5-3 Hz): These are the slowest brainwaves and are primarily associated with deep sleep. You’re usually not consciously aware of much when these are dominant. Your subconscious mind is programmed easily on the 'Alpha' level. Therefore, this type of meditation / relaxation / programming is going to influence your state / thinking much faster. Use it daily if you can and in 30 days you'll be amazed at the result that you can achieve!
