I love a car and I would like to think that I have tried to take a good care of my beloved car. I came across an interesting article online about an essential maintenance for car's long-use and would like to share it here. It is said that the best timing to exchange a car is from 7 to 9 years on average in the case of what you bought it as a brand new one. That's because some of their parts will be discontinued in the future and some related taxes will increase in Japan if you have had it for over 13 years. However, you generally can use it over 20 years depending on your maintenance. In other word, your poor-maintenance-conscious might deteriorate your beloved car quickly. So, the article said essential maintenances are as follows 1) The exchange of oils on a regular basis, such as an engine oil and an engine coolant water called "Long Life Coolant". 2) The exchange of consumables on a regular basis, such as tires, air elements, brake pads, batteries and so on. 3) The exchange of rubber boots such as suspension dust boots, dry shaft boots and so on. 4) The exchange of suspension related parts such as dampers, mounts arms and so on. 5) The exchange of brake related parts such as brake pads, disc rotors and so on. Probably, I'm not going to have my beloved car over 20 years, but I think making a point of good maintenance is better safe than sorry. So, I'll follow the instruction above in the future.
