Surely if they had been zealous to pluck a brand from the burning, here was a noble opportunity.(original) Question: Is the original grammatically correct? I don't know what is the exact meaning of the word "brand" here? I guess it perhaps has three meanings by dictionary : (1) type of product, (2) a mark made with a piece of hot metal especially on farm animals to show who owned them,(3) a burning wood, and (4) torch ‖ a long piece of wood that has materials at one end that is set on fire and that people carry to give light), but each of all those felt not be in line with or match the "noble opportunity" by logic. I guess it must be another meaning which I don't know. Could you tell me what it means?

Is "veiled twilight behind the shrouded curtain of the dome" describing the same thing from the following? What should I pay attention to if I rewrite or paraphrase a text? I appreciate any technique for word choice, mood, active or passive voice, etc. So, I personally like to wake up in the early hours of the morning, that twilight time, just before birdsong starts to fill the air. You know, when you can still see stars poking through the fabric of the night. I love that time of the morning, the stillness, the quiet.

Could you check my text please? Training session about strategical thinking. Today I visited a training session, organised by my company, about strategical thinking and a systematic approach. In spite of the fact that I was a bit skeptical before the session, it turned out to be quite interesting and useful. Honestly I’m a big proponent of a systematic and strategical approach. I’m convinced that only using this method it’s possible to succeed, because success requires a plan and consistency. I use this approach in different parts of my life besides work, such as in language learning, finance management and work-out routine. At the same time I think that I have a room for improvement in terms of strategical thinking. Usually my planning horizon is up to 3 years, which is not very bad, but may be longer. I’m considering about having a 5 or even 10-year plan, but understanding that everything is changing, including myself, really makes me doubt. Thank you!
