Difference when using 正， 在， 呢 I've been learning how to express present perfect lately and I've come across these various ways... Eg... 妈妈正在晾衣服呢 妈妈正在晾衣服 妈妈正晾衣服呢 妈妈正晾衣服 妈妈在晾衣服呢 妈妈在晾衣服 How do I know which one to use? Do 正， 正在， 在 and 呢 imply any difference in meaning? Thank you.

Brushing teeth － 刷牙 你刷牙吗? nǐ shuǎ yá ma？ Do you want to brush your teeth? 刷牙了吗? shuā yá le ma? Have you brushed your teeth? 你刷牙吧。 nǐ shuā yǎ ba go and brush your teeth 我已经刷牙。wǒ yǐ jīng shuā yǎ I already brushed my teeth. Please tell me if these sentences are correct. Also, what would be the natural way to tell my child to brush his teeth? Thank you for your help.

What's the difference in these sentences? Whats the difference between ... 你刷牙吗? nǐ shuǎ yá ma？ 刷牙了吗? shuā yá le ma? Do they both mean 'have you brushed your teeth?' Thank you.

how many teachers do you have lessons with? If you take two lessons each week which do you think is better? Two lessons with the same teacher or two lessons with different teachers? Thank you.

Wanted: suggestions for a Chinese mandarin textbook.

Good afternoon. 

 

I have been studying Chinese on my own for a few years and I think it's time to buy myself a textbook to give my learning a little more structure. I need something I can use mostly independently. I want to have explanations for Chinese grammar, spoken and written exercises to complete (with answers supplied) as well as Chinese text to practice reading. It must have pinyin though as I can't function without it yet. 

 

I probably need to start pretty much "at the beginning" although I would say my level of understanding would be equal to a patchy 2nd year high school student. 

Has anyone used a textbook that they would recommend that would suit my needs? All suggestions gratefully received. :)
