#Expressions
When learning a new language, there are so many new expressions that are usually tied to the culture behind the language.
Korean "delicacies" #5 The more I learn Korean, the more often people ask me why I'm doing it. They say learning Korean is trendy now, so maybe I'm just following the trend? Or maybe I'm doing it for my favorite singer? Well... I don't listen to K-pop, and I wasn't even interested in Korean culture before. It was just that I once watched a documentary about the Japanese occupation and it intrigued me. I noticed that Poland has a similar history to Korea. That was the impulse. I read one article, then a book, and suddenly I found myself knowing a few Korean words. And since I already knew a few, I wanted to know more. After three months of self-study, I found italki and I'll probably stay here. I've met wonderful teachers here and I hope to meet many more people who want to climb out of their well. I don't want to be a frog in a well. I jumped out by accident, but now I'm enjoying the delicacies. 우물 안 개구리 - lit. "a frog in a well", someone who has a narrow perspective or limited knowledge due to their lack of exposure to the outside world (EN) 우물 안 개구리 - dosł. "żaba w studni", człowiek o wąskich horyzontach myślowych lub małej wiedzy wynikającej z nieznajomości świata (PL)
